As a surrogate / fsssw, I commit to conducting my work with integrity, professionalism, and care. This Code of Ethics serves as a guiding framework to ensure that my interactions are ethical, consensual, and aligned with values of respect, dignity, and personal well-being.

1. Consent & Boundaries

• I will only engage in consensual interactions, ensuring that all activities are agreed upon by all parties involved.

• I respect my own boundaries and those of my clients, and I reserve the right to decline services at any time.

• I will not pressure or coerce clients into services they are uncertain about, nor will I accept coercion in my own work.

2. Safety & Well-Being

• I prioritise my physical, emotional, and financial safety in all professional engagements.

• I take appropriate measures to protect my health, including regular testing and harm-reduction practices.

• I ensure safe working environments by screening clients, using secure communication, and having safety protocols in place.

3. Confidentiality & Privacy

• I respect the privacy of my clients and will not disclose identifying or personal information without their explicit consent.

• I expect the same level of discretion from my clients and will communicate my boundaries around confidentiality clearly.

4. Professionalism & Integrity

• I commit to clear and honest communication regarding my services, boundaries, and rates.

• I will not engage in misleading advertising or make false claims about the nature of my work.

• I will manage my business ethically, including transparent financial transactions and honoring agreements made with clients.

5. Respect & Non-Discrimination

• I treat all clients and colleagues with respect, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, ability, or background.

• I do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or abusive behavior in my work environment.

• I acknowledge that different people have different needs and strive to create an affirming and inclusive space for clients.

6. Emotional & Psychological Well-Being

• I recognise the emotional demands of my work and commit to engaging in self-care and seeking support when needed.

• I will set clear emotional boundaries with clients and avoid dynamics that compromise my well-being.

• I understand that my work does not require emotional labor beyond agreed-upon services.

7. Advocacy & Community Support

• I support the rights of fssws to work safely, free from stigma, discrimination, and criminalisation.

• I advocate for harm reduction, bodily autonomy, and access to health services for all fssws.

• I strive to contribute to a community that empowers and uplifts fellow workers rather than engaging in exploitation or competition that undermines collective well-being.

This Code of Ethics ensures that my work is grounded in consent, professionalism, and safety while affirming the rights and dignity of both myself and my clients.
